Hi, I'm Elise McFarland.
I believe that as humans, it is our birth-right to tell stories. My own endeavor to engage in this ancient tradition has brought me to video and audio design. Although I have my roots in physical ephemera, printmaking, and janky-looking tattoos (creating under the artist alias Sadderday Mourning Cartoons), I've chosen to learn how to tell my stories lucidly though the medium of film and animation.
A small conservative town in Northern California is where I called home for my first couple of decade as a person. I moved out of California in my late 20s, tried to find my place in ATX, and am now living in Madison, Wisconsin. I think the people here have a small town friendliness where you can look strangers in the eye and say "hello." It is also big enough as a city that you can catch the bus to downtown for people watching and live music.
I am surrounded by the love of my partner and our two cats, have a few art degrees, and am a suicide survivor. Spiritually, I consider myself agnostic,  a Luddite, and an Anarchist. In practice, I am a humanist. I have things in common with everyone and generally find other people exciting and mysterious. I don't think people can be replaced with computers. I also think that we should treat the earth as our only home and preserving it is our gift to each other.
If we ever meet in person, say hello. I'll probably give you some stickers and we can talk about ways to collaborate or ponder in the vast mysteries of life after death.
